The Renwick 2009-10 Phase II Cut List is a summary of the second round of cuts that the board has established for the 2009-10 budget. As you are probably aware, the downturn in the global economy has caused a dramatic reduction in the funding that the state will provide to each Kansas school district for the 2009-10 school year.  Anticipating these cuts early on during the 2008-09 school year, the board developed the Phase I cuts. At the close of this year’s legislative session, an additional set of reductions was established by the legislators.   In response to that set of legislative reductions, the board established the Phase II cut list which is attached.   The Phase I and Phase II Renwick cuts save over $1.1 million, which offsets the known reductions of about $900,000 from the state plus over $200,000 to help offset any additional cuts that the state may impose later this year.
